  • New Game!

    0 Comment/s

I have recently been working on my iOS development skills and have come up with a very simple yet addictive game. The name will remain a secret for now as i finish working with artists to get it looking pretty!

More info to come when i submit the App to Apple for approval. What i can tell you all is that it will be available for the iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch under Tier 1 pricing on the App Store.

  • Siri via Spire for iPhone 4

    0 Comment/s

I have been doing lots of reading over the last few days about an App/Hack for Jailbroken iOS devices called Spire. Spire is an "Installer" of sorts and actually allows the installation of a hacked version of Siri, very useful if your unwilling to upgrade your iPhone 4 or even iPhone 3GS but still would like to try out Siri.

There is however a catch, Spire is not a complete solution and as such it does require a proxy server to work at all. The proxy server must be setup to talk to the Apple servers and provide a unique iPhone 4S code in order to start sending and receiving Siri queries.

The proxy server from what i have read only runs on linux and i have watched a few tutorials on getting it installed under the latest version of Ubunutu. I would only recommend using Siri over your own proxy server as using other peoples servers means they get access to anything you actually say to Siri which could be a tad unsecured if your sending phones numbers/email addresses over your Siri scribed messages.

So far i have setup the Spire hack on my newly Jailbroken iPhone 4, once iget a working proxy up and running i will post an update. I have a few buddies that are non tech and have the new 4S so i plan on asking them if i can share their key... Fingers Crossed.

  • Happy New Year!

    0 Comment/s

Well I have been gone for a while now, lots of stuff to do recently with work and Christmas etc. In fact i have also been playing some games with my most of my spare time recently as i felt i had been going too hard on the tech side of things for a while and needed a break. It is however a new year and there is much to do!

The pSite framework is getting more and more mature as time goes on and i have also started on a new project called pMon. The idea of the new project is offer a free server monitoring service that will feed back information about your Server or PC to the pSYION servers. You will then be able to review this information from a Web Administration Panel. Users will be able to setup alerts which can be triggered by a server being out of touch for a certain period.

In terms of development work there is still much to do regarding pMon, i finished getting a basic first version of the Windows Service working last night which collects information about the Server including the following,

     - Ram Count
     - Core Count
     - CPU Brand
     - System Uptime
     - Installed Services
     - Host Name

The next phase of development will focus on a Web Service to allow the Client Service to connect to the pSYION server. Finally once both the Client and the Servers Web Service are completed i will begin work on the Web Interface which initially at least will be hosted here on the pSYION.net.

Here is a quick teaser of the Client Administration Application for Windows. More updates to come as times goes on!

  • Client Side Callbacks on pSite!!!

    0 Comment/s

I have made lots of progress on the client side callback framework over the last few days. I have now moved adding comments over to it, this allows comments to be submitted without a page refresh and is working really well!

The whole blog system is now also running on the new callback system, this allows live updates to content on screen if changed by another user. A good example of this would be comments, if a user adds a comment to some content this will auto update on anyone else's screen who is viewing the content. This is also the same for the actually blog posts too!

All of the HTML is cached on the server ready for any new responses which speeds up the site loads times considerably! Most pages after their first load will load in around two seconds or less for any other users accessing that content until the site is restarted or the cache is cleared due to an object changing.

I have also made some changes to how content is edited, I have started working on a unified editor that will be used with the HTML Content Page Module, the Blog Module and the Articles module and will allow the following features to begin with..

    - Image Uploading
    - Attachment Uploading
    - Reference Hyperlinks
    - Video Uploads
    - Sound Uploads
    - Auto Save

The editor is still in a work in progress but once finished it will being doing the jobs that were previously done by three separate editors.

I will be posting more updates as the work progresses, the system is really starting to come together now though. It won't be massively long before a public release..

  • ShareMouse = Awesome!!!

    0 Comment/s

I have had a rather busy and in some places fun day setting up all of my Macs from fresh again. Everything is almost back up and running as before including some changes, most notably is the fact I'm only using one mouse and keyboard for everything! Its all thanks to a very small piece of software called ShareMouse.

ShareMouse allows you to share both your mouse and your keyboard across multiple Mac or PC's. It even shares your clipboard and drag and drop files across multiple machines running either Windows or OSX.

So far I have tested it with My Mac Mini, MacBook Pro and iMac, with the iMac being the "Server" since it has the mouse and keyboard. This has saved me so much space and is a very nice alternative to a hardware KVM which are becoming more and more old school!

The only gripes I really have with it are the lack of extra controls.. On my iMac I am able to trigger Mission Control or switch spaces using the swipe commands on my magic mouse.. When I move over to another screen from the host I lose this functionality... I am not sure if they plan on adding advanced features like this.. Since they are Mac specific they may not be on the todo list I'm guessing...

If your interested in checking it then visit the link posted at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!
